Okocha Congratulates Wike on Tinubu Campaign Appointment

The Rivers State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Tony Okocha, has congratulated the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on his appointment as coordinator of President Bola Tinubu’s presidential campaign in Rivers State and the FCT ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Okocha, in a congratulatory message dated October 13, 2026, described the appointment as a recognition of Wike’s political influence, grassroots mobilisation capacity and leadership experience.

The APC chairman conveyed the congratulatory message on behalf of the party’s State Executive Council, leaders, stakeholders and members in Rivers State.

He said Wike’s political reach across the 23 local government areas of Rivers State and the FCT had established him as a formidable political organiser.

According to Okocha, the minister’s appointment by the party’s national leadership and President Tinubu reflects confidence in his ability to coordinate political structures and mobilise support for the president’s re-election bid.

He expressed confidence that Wike’s involvement would strengthen the Renewed Hope Agenda and improve the APC’s chances in the 2027 general elections.

Okocha pledged the Rivers APC’s solidarity, support and collaboration with Wike in carrying out the campaign assignment.

He added that the party was confident that the minister’s political experience, energy and organisational skills would help unify campaign structures and advance the president’s electoral prospects.

The APC chairman wished Wike wisdom, strength and success in the assignment, describing it as a significant responsibility.

The appointment places Wike, a former Rivers State governor and prominent political figure in the South-South, at the centre of the APC’s campaign coordination efforts in Rivers State and the FCT.
