The Rivers State Police Command has announced the appointment of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Agabe Blessing Kaborlo as its new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), following approval by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu.
In a press release issued on Friday, the Command disclosed that ASP Kaborlo, an indigene of Ogoni in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, was commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force in 2023 after completing a five-year training programme at the Nigeria Police Academy, where she earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B). She also holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree from Rivers State University.
The new police spokesperson has undergone several specialised professional trainings, including courses in combat operations and counter-terrorism at the Police Mobile Force Training School in Ende Hills, Nasarawa State, and citizenship and leadership training at Shere Hills, Jos.
ASP Kaborlo has served in multiple capacities within the Force, including postings at the Divisional Police Station, Okporo; the Human Rights Section (DFA); and as Second-in-Command of the Police Public Relations Office in Rivers State Command. Until her elevation, she held the position of Second-in-Command in the same office.
The Command assured residents of sustained transparency, effective communication, and improved police-community relations under the leadership of the new PPRO.
The appointment was confirmed in a statement signed by the outgoing Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Grace Iringe-Koko, on April 10, 2026.
