The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded the preliminary register of voters for the 2027 general elections to its online platform following concerns from Nigerians and other stakeholders over its accessibility.
The commission said the online publication would complement the physical display of the register conducted nationwide from October 9 to 15, 2026, allowing more registered voters to verify their details.
INEC Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Kudu Haruna, announced that the register could be accessed through [https://display.inecnigeria.org](https://display.inecnigeria.org?utm_source=chatgpt.com).
The commission explained that it had taken note of public concerns about the need to make the preliminary register available online in addition to the physical display already conducted across the country.
The physical exercise was carried out in accordance with Section 19 of the Electoral Act, 2026, to enable registered voters to verify their particulars and submit claims and objections as provided by law.
INEC said it was processing claims and objections arising from the exercise ahead of the certification and publication of the final register of voters scheduled for December 15, 2026.
The commission described the online publication as an additional measure to promote transparency, improve accessibility and strengthen public confidence in the electoral process.
It urged Nigerians and other stakeholders to participate actively in the verification process, reaffirming its commitment to implementing the Electoral Act, 2026, and conducting credible elections.
