Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo; Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike; and Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, have been named members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.

Their inclusion in the council is notable because the three politicians are associated with opposition parties. Soludo is the national leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Wike is a prominent leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while Adeleke belongs to the Accord Party.

The expanded council, which will be headed by President Bola Tinubu, is designed to bring together political figures from different parties in support of the president’s re-election bid.

Other members named include Presidential Adviser on Policy and Coordination, Hadiza Bala Usman; former Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun; former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode; Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo; and former House of Representatives member, Patrick Obahiagbon.

Also included are former Osun APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji; former APC National Legal Advisers, Dr. Muiz Banire and Babatunde Ogala; Chief Ayiri Emami; Victor Giadom; Magnus Abe; and former Ogun State Governor, Gbenga Daniel.

According to a report by The Nation, the composition of the council reflects efforts to promote inter-party cooperation and political harmony around what the party describes as a shared vision for national progress.

The APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, was quoted as saying that the presidential campaign council would be inaugurated in Abuja tomorrow.

The inclusion of opposition figures underscores the cross-party political alignments emerging ahead of the 2027 general elections.
