A road accident occurred on Friday on the Waterlines Flyover in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after a BMW SUV collided with the road median while attempting to avoid a commercial tricycle reportedly driving against traffic.
According to eyewitness information, the young man driving the SUV was manoeuvring around the mini bus, popularly known as Keke, when he lost control and crashed into the median.
The impact was severe enough to pull off one of the SUV’s tyres.
An oncoming Toyota Corolla subsequently collided with the damaged BMW, leaving the Corolla partially damaged.
The Keke reportedly escaped from the scene immediately after the incident.
The accident caused some disruption to traffic on the flyover, while motorists and passers-by gathered around the scene.
No information was immediately available on any casualty from the accident.
