PABOD Finance and Investment Company Limited has ushered in a new phase of leadership with the assumption of office of ESV. Sofiri Gladstone Dappa as Acting General Manager.

Dappa formally assumed office on Friday, September 25, 2026, following a handover ceremony at the company’s headquarters in Port Harcourt.

He took over from the outgoing Acting General Manager, Dr. Minafuro Iyisonye, at the ceremony attended by members of management, staff and other stakeholders.

His assumption of office comes as the Rivers State Government-owned investment company seeks to reposition its operations, optimise its assets and strengthen its contribution to the state’s economic development.

Dappa, who is also a Director of PF Sandcrete Industries Limited, a subsidiary of PABOD, brings extensive professional experience spanning estate surveying, valuation, property development, transportation and environmental studies.

His multidisciplinary background is expected to support the company’s efforts to improve asset utilisation, explore new investment opportunities and enhance the commercial performance of its subsidiaries.

Dappa holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Estate Management from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, now Rivers State University.

He also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Geography and Environmental Studies and a Master’s degree in Transport Geography. He is currently concluding his doctoral studies in Transport Geography at the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt.

He is a member of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), a Registered Estate Surveyor and Valuer, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIoTA).

With professional expertise spanning real estate, investment, infrastructure and transportation, Dappa is expected to bring his experience to bear on PABOD’s drive to strengthen its commercial operations.

His appointment comes at a time when state-owned enterprises face growing demands to improve efficiency, maximise existing assets and deliver greater value from public investments.

For PABOD, a key priority will be to convert its asset base and investment portfolio into sustainable commercial opportunities capable of generating increased value for Rivers State.

Beyond his professional career, Dappa is a golfer and a member of Port Harcourt Club 1928. He is also a member of Rotary International.

He is married to an Urban and Regional Planner, and they have children.

With the formal handover completed, Dappa begins his tenure with the responsibility of steering PABOD through its next phase while working with management and staff to strengthen operations and position the company as a more productive investment vehicle for Rivers State.
