Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has urged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to clarify his political allegiance amid his involvement in the Rainbow Coalition.
Lawal spoke on Friday during a television interview on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The governor said Wike should not simultaneously support the All Progressives Congress and other political parties, insisting that political allegiance should be clearly defined.
He said APC governors would maintain their position, urging Wike to either join and support the APC or remain outside the party.
Lawal's comments come amid continuing disagreements between Wike and some APC governors over the Rainbow Coalition, a cross-party platform associated with support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Wike has maintained that the coalition is primarily focused on supporting Tinubu and that its members can retain their respective political parties and support candidates in other elections.
The disagreement has continued to generate debate over the political identity and structure of the coalition as parties and political actors position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
