Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have neutralised 1,106 Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists and arrested 758 suspected logistics collaborators in Borno State.

The outgoing Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, disclosed this during his farewell address at Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Abubakar said the military also intercepted more than N300 million in illicit funds allegedly linked to terrorist financiers during the period under review.

He said troops recovered more than 475 assorted weapons and 24,409 rounds of ammunition of various calibres, while 295 Improvised Explosive Devices were discovered and safely detonated.

According to him, the operational gains were achieved through sustained kinetic operations combined with non-kinetic engagements.

The commander said the approach contributed to the surrender of more than 969 JAS/ISWAP fighters and their family members within the past year.

He also disclosed that troops rescued 638 civilians from terrorist enclaves during the period.

Among the rescue operations, he cited the successful recovery of all 46 students during an attempted abduction at the Federal Government Girls College, Monguno.

Abubakar said several senior terrorist commanders were also neutralised during military operations, including Abu Bilal Al-Muniki, also known as Abu Mainok; Malam Jidda, Amir of Ngorgore/Malumti villages; Abu Modu; Modu Dogo; Munzir of Dogon Chukun; Abu Aisha, Qaid of Tumbun Mota; and Abul Kaka.

He attributed the achievements to the commitment of troops and collaboration with other stakeholders in the counter-insurgency campaign.

The outgoing commander thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve and expressed appreciation to the Borno State Government for its support.
