The grand finale of the 2026 Miss World Festival is set to take place in Nha Trang, Vietnam, with Nigeria expressing strong confidence in its representative, Queen Tamunosoye Karibi George.
A high-profile Nigerian delegation has arrived in the Vietnamese tourist city to support the country\'s contestant, reflecting widespread backing from the Federal Government, Rivers State, Bayelsa State and other stakeholders.
The Federal Government delegation is being led by the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, who is representing President Bola Tinubu at the international event.
Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, is represented by the Permanent Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Information and Communications, Dr. Honor Sirawoo, who is leading the state\'s delegation.
Also in attendance are former Bayelsa congressman and Chairman of Miss World Nigeria, Prof. Steve Azaiki, and activist and politician, Engr. Udengs Eradiri.
The Silverbird Group, organisers of Miss World Nigeria, is represented by its National Director, Mr. Guy Murray-Bruce, alongside members of its organising team.
Queen Tamunosoye\'s family is also present in Vietnam, including her parents, Barrister Karibi George and Mrs. Ebitari George, as well as her uncle, former House of Representatives member, Dr. Dawari George, and other relatives from the Prince George Group of Houses in Buguma, Rivers State, and the Aganaba Royal Family of Odi, Bayelsa State.
Speaking ahead of the finale, TeamSoye leader, Prince Iwefa Aganaba, described the event as “a coronation ceremony to recognise and reward beauty with a purpose.”
He noted that excitement was high within the Nigerian delegation following Queen Tamunosoye\'s impressive performance throughout the competition, adding that the level of support from African countries for the Nigerian contestant had been unprecedented.
The delegation expressed optimism that Nigeria\'s representative would make history at the global pageant, declaring the country\'s readiness for the final contest.
