Arrest Two Kidnap Suspects in Abuja

The rescue operation was confirmed in a special situation report released by the Guards Brigade on Wednesday.

According to the report, the victim was kidnapped at about 10:30 p.m. on September 1, prompting an immediate deployment of troops to track down the abductors.

Soldiers from the Guards Brigade and the Army Headquarters Garrison launched a coordinated pursuit through the ACO Estate and Gosa Community, where they made contact with the kidnappers.

The troops successfully rescued Mrs. Adonkie around Angwan-Sabo Village, while another team continued the chase after the fleeing suspects.

The report disclosed that at about 11:09 a.m. on Wednesday, troops of the 176 Guards Battalion and the 197 Special Forces Battalion intercepted two suspected kidnappers at Gaube Village in Kuje Area Council.

Security operatives recovered an AK-47 rifle and a magazine loaded with 19 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition from the suspects.

The Army said the rescued victim has been reunited with her family, while the two arrested suspects are in custody and undergoing profiling.

It added that efforts were ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the kidnapping gang, with troops intensifying operations across the area to track down the fleeing criminals.
