The Rivers State Ministry of Culture and Tourism has urged residents of the state and Nigerians at large to support Miss Soye Karibi-George in her bid to win the Miss World 2026 crown.

In a statement issued in Port Harcourt, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr. Freddy Ndigbara, described Karibi-George as a worthy ambassador carrying the hopes and aspirations of the people of Rivers State on the global stage.

Ndigbara said the contestant possesses the qualities required to emerge victorious, adding that she has become a source of inspiration for young people across the state.

"Miss Soye Karibi-George is our idol, a strong bonding force for our youths and an encouragement to the younger generation," he said.

He stressed that her success would depend not only on her credentials but also on the support, votes and prayers of Nigerians. According to him, the collective backing of the public will boost her chances of securing the prestigious international title.

Recalling Nigeria's historic triumph at the Miss World pageant, Ndigbara said it was time for another Nigerian to wear the coveted crown. "Twenty-five years ago, Agbani Darego won the coveted crown; now it is the time of Tamunosoye," he said, while calling on Nigerians to vote for and support Karibi-George throughout the competition.
