Chief Daniel Osi Orbih, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike's faction of the party, has died.
According to a statement issued by the Orbih family, he passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026.
The family described his death as a painful loss, saying it accepted the development in total submission to the will of God.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Florence Orbih; his children, Ms. Winifred Anwosiobor Orbih and Dr. Mildred Omonemi Orbih; his siblings, and other members of the extended family.
The statement, signed by Francis Udukhomoi Orbih on behalf of the family, appealed to relatives, friends and well-wishers to remember the family in their prayers during the period of mourning.
The family added that details of the funeral arrangements would be announced at a later date.
