President Bola Tinubu has directed the arrest of George Buchi Nwabueze and suspended three permanent secretaries following the discovery of another alleged fake government agency operating within the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr. Musa Aliyu, disclosed this after briefing the President for the second time this week on the agency's ongoing investigations.
According to Aliyu, the newly uncovered organisation, identified as the National Brands Development and Made-in-Nigeria Special Project Office, was discovered during investigations into the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.
He identified Nwabueze as the promoter of the alleged fake agency.
The three suspended permanent secretaries are M. S. Danjuma, Engr. Nadungu Gagare and Mr. Richard P. Pheelangwah.
The ICPC said investigations into the activities of the alleged fake agencies are continuing, while the Presidency has ordered further actions to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
