The Rivers State University (RSU) has announced the commencement of supplementary admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session, giving candidates who were unable to secure admission another opportunity to gain entry into the institution.
In a notice issued by the university management, supplementary applications are now open for all programmes except Law, Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering.
The university advised candidates who did not meet the merit and catchment area cut-off marks for their preferred courses to apply for the supplementary admission exercise by selecting from available programmes through the institution's application portal.
According to the notice signed by the Registrar of the university, Dr. Idanyingi I. Daminabo, the supplementary application process will close on September 6, 2026.
RSU also clarified that only candidates who changed their programmes on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) on or before July 4, 2026, before the release of the university's cut-off marks, were considered by the Senate Admissions Committee for the initial admission exercise.
The management therefore urged candidates who changed their programmes after the July 4 deadline to proceed with supplementary application registration to enhance their chances of securing admission.
