FIFA Unveils 11-Member Technical Team for 2026 World Cup Awards

FIFA has named an 11-member Technical Study Group (TSG) that will analyse matches and select winners of key individual awards at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The panel was announced during a virtual media briefing ahead of the tournament, which is scheduled to kick off next month at Estadio Azteca.

The group will be headed by FIFA Senior Football Expert, Pascal Zuberbühler, and comprises a blend of former international players and experienced coaches from across the globe.

Among those appointed are Pablo Zabaleta, Jürgen Klinsmann, Michael O'Neill, Otto Addo, Paulo Wanchope and Gilberto Silva.

Other members of the panel include Tobin Heath, Jon Dahl Tomasson, Jayne Ludlow and Aron Winter.

FIFA said the Technical Study Group will monitor tactical trends, provide expert insights throughout the competition and determine recipients of the prestigious Golden Ball, Golden Glove and Best Young Player awards.

The 2026 World Cup will be the first edition to feature 48 teams, with a total of 104 matches scheduled across the tournament.

According to FIFA, the group combines football expertise with advanced data analysis to document and assess how the game is played at the highest level during the global showpiece.
