Gov Fubara Assures Completion of Rivers Secretariat Renovation

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has assured civil servants and the public that the ongoing renovation of the Rivers State Secretariat Complex will be completed and delivered in the first quarter of 2027.

Governor Fubara gave the assurance on Monday after inspecting work at the Secretariat Complex in Port Harcourt.

Speaking during the inspection, the governor explained that although he had observed the impressive transformation of the complex from the outside, he decided to personally inspect the interior sections to assess the level and quality of work being carried out.

He expressed satisfaction with the pace of construction and the standard of renovation achieved so far.

According to him, the project is progressing steadily and is expected to be ready for handover within the projected timeline.

“We just toured the renovation of the State Secretariat. I have been seeing the outer part wearing a new look, but I wanted to confirm the level of work going on inside, and that was why I came to inspect it myself,” the governor said.

“With the progress of work here, by the grace of God, I believe that by the first quarter of next year it will be handed over to the government.”

Governor Fubara also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing all ongoing projects across the state, stressing that no project initiated by his government would be abandoned.

“Like I promised, every job that we are handling, we will ensure that we complete them,” he added.
