JAMB Releases First Batch of 2026 UTME Results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of 632,788 candidates who participated in the opening day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The announcement was made on Friday in a statement by the Board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, who confirmed that candidates can now access their scores through designated SMS channels.

According to JAMB, candidates are required to send β€œUTMERESULT” via SMS to either 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number registered for the examination. The Board clarified that, for now, only result viewing is available, as printing of official result slips has not yet commenced.

The examination body noted that the UTME exercise is still ongoing nationwide, adding that subsequent batches of results will be released in phases as marking and processing are completed.

JAMB also issued a strong warning against any attempt to manipulate or falsify examination results. It cautioned candidates against altering official SMS notifications to misrepresent their scores to parents, guardians, or the public.

Describing such acts as criminal offences, the Board disclosed that enforcement actions have already been taken against offenders. It revealed that two candidates and one parent are currently in custody for allegedly falsifying results using artificial intelligence and other digital tools.

The Board stressed that anyone found culpable would face legal consequences, reiterating its zero-tolerance stance on examination malpractice and fraud.

JAMB urged all candidates to adhere strictly to approved procedures and maintain integrity, assuring the public of its commitment to a transparent and credible admissions process in Nigeria.
