Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has called on citizens to celebrate Christmas with a renewed commitment to peace, religious tolerance, and collective progress.

In his 2025 Christmas message, Governor Fubara described the season as a time to honour the birth of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, whose life exemplifies love, humility, sacrifice, and compassion. He congratulated residents for witnessing a season he described as one of hope, renewal, and thanksgiving.

The governor emphasized that the spirit of Christmas transcends religion and urged all citizens to reflect on enduring values such as love, unity, and empathy. He stressed the importance of being one another’s keeper, particularly amid current socio-economic challenges.

Highlighting the Rivers First agenda, Fubara reiterated his commitment to inclusive development anchored in peace and stability. He called for dialogue over discord, understanding over division, and vigilance in maintaining security, reminding residents that safeguarding the state is a shared responsibility.

Governor Fubara concluded by wishing Rivers people a joyful and harmonious festive season, and a prosperous 2026 filled with purpose, progress, and breakthroughs.
