Police Recover N23.6m Gold Buried by Woman During Boko Haram Attack 15 Years Ago

The Borno State Police Command has assisted a woman in the Mallam Fatori area to recover gold valued at N23.6 million, which she buried in the sand 15 years ago while fleeing a Boko Haram attack.

The recovery was confirmed in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Daso, who noted that the womanβ€”whose identity was not disclosedβ€”recently returned to the community and sought police assistance to retrieve the valuables she had concealed during the insurgent invasion.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, commended the Divisional Police Officer of Mallam Fatori and his team for their professionalism, honesty, and dedication throughout the operation.
