The decomposing body of 24-year-old Fatima Salihu Muhammad, who went missing five days ago from the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Staff Quarters, has been discovered in a nearby maize farm at Birshin Fulani community.

Her corpse, identified by residents, was found with the groceries she had gone to purchase before her disappearance. Police spokesperson CSP Ahmed Wakil confirmed the incident, adding that homicide detectives have been assigned to investigate the cause of death.

This comes weeks after armed robbers attacked the institution’s male hostel, leaving several students injured.
