Rights activist, Deji Adeyanju, has urged newly called lawyers to embrace discipline and professionalism, stressing that the practice of law differs greatly from activism.
In a post on his verified Facebook handle, Adeyanju welcomed the βnew wigsβ to what he described as the largest bar in Africa, reminding them that while there is money in the profession, success requires hard work, patience, and wisdom.
He advised the young lawyers to understand the value of contacts, know when to negotiate, remain silent, or raise their voices, cautioning that stubbornness is not a virtue in legal practice.
Reflecting on his own journey, Adeyanju admitted that he had to learn βthe bitter lessonβ that law is different from activism.
