Governor of Lagos State yesterday addressed the US–Nigeria Policy & Trade Forum, held at the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta, alongside the FNITCC-AFRICON 2025 event.

Speaking at the forum, the Governor highlighted the strong socio-economic and cultural ties between Lagos and Georgia. He noted that Atlanta is home to one of the largest Nigerian communities in the United States, while Lagos, with a population of over 24 million, remains Africa’s most dynamic economic hub.

Drawing parallels between the two cities, he described Atlanta as the logistics and technology hub of the American South and Lagos as the gateway to West Africa. He stressed that both cities are thriving at the intersection of trade, innovation, and culture.

The Governor used the platform to declare that Lagos is “open and ready for investment,” calling for partnerships in key sectors such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, technology, and the creative industries. He further emphasized the strategic role of the Nigerian diaspora in Georgia, describing them as a “bridge of trust and innovation” capable of deepening city-to-city ties between Atlanta and Lagos.
