The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dismissed reports circulating on social media suggesting that the Commission is currently recruiting for various positions.

In a statement released via its verified social media handle, INEC described the advertorial as fake and cautioned the public against falling prey to fraudsters behind the scheme.

According to the Commission, the impostors had directed unsuspecting applicants to a fraudulent website, www.inecrecruitment.com, claiming it to be the Commission’s official recruitment portal. INEC, however, clarified that it has no such portal and is not conducting any recruitment exercise at the moment.

“The Commission is not recruiting. Nigerians should disregard this fraudulent call for applications and avoid becoming victims of criminal elements,” INEC stated.

The electoral body urged the public to always verify recruitment information directly from its official platforms to avoid exploitation by scammers.
