The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has opened applications for recruitment into four job categories, with eligible Nigerians given until November 1, 2026, to apply.

The commission announced the exercise in a notice published on its official website on October 24, inviting qualified candidates to apply for positions ranging from detective officers to professionals and skilled workers.

The four categories are Detective Superintendent, Detective Inspector, Detective Assistant and Professionals/Skilled Workers, with different academic qualifications and age limits.

Applicants for the Detective Superintendent cadre, equivalent to Assistant Superintendent of EFCC II, Grade Level 08, must possess a bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognised institution, alongside a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge or exemption certificate. Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years old.

For Detective Inspector, equivalent to Inspector of EFCC II, Grade Level 06, applicants must hold a National Diploma (ND) or National Certificate in Education (NCE). The age requirement is between 18 and 27 years.

The Detective Assistant II category, Grade Level 04, requires candidates to have at least five credit passes in WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings. Applicants must be aged between 18 and 25 years.

The Professionals/Skilled Workers category is open to candidates aged between 18 and 40 years, with relevant qualifications in specialised fields, including medicine, pharmacy, law, nursing, engineering, medical laboratory science, information and communications technology, financial analysis, human resources management, media and publicity, research, legal services and estate surveying.

Other eligible areas include policy analysis, monitoring and evaluation, librarianship, administrative and clerical services, and driving. Applicants in this category are expected to possess relevant professional qualifications and an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, while membership of a recognised professional association is an added advantage.

The EFCC's general requirements include Nigerian citizenship, basic computer skills, medical fitness and a clean criminal record. Applicants must declare their academic and professional qualifications and provide evidence of medical fitness from a government-approved hospital. Tattoos on any part of the body are also prohibited.

Candidates applying for the cadet categories must be single. Male applicants must be at least 1.67 metres tall, while female applicants must have a minimum height of 1.64 metres.

For professionals and skilled workers, a valid driver's licence is an added advantage, while good character and integrity are mandatory expectations.

The application process is entirely online. Interested candidates are required to register on the recruitment portal, verify their email addresses, complete the application form and upload the necessary documents.

Applicants must also provide their National Identification Number (NIN), ensuring that their names and dates of birth correspond with the details on their NIN records. The commission warned that multiple applications and the submission of false information would result in automatic disqualification.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to present printed copies of their completed application forms during the screening exercise.

The commission emphasised that the recruitment process is free and cautioned applicants against paying individuals or organisations promising to influence their selection.

Interested Nigerians are advised to review the eligibility criteria and application instructions on the official EFCC recruitment portal at **https://recruitment.efcc.gov.ng** before the November 1, 2026 deadline.
