The family of Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo has announced the funeral arrangements for the late movie star, who will be laid to rest on June 18, 2026, in Arochukwu, Abia State.
In a statement released by the Ekubo-Okwaraeke family, relatives, friends, colleagues, fans, and well-wishers were invited to join in celebrating the actor’s “beautiful life, enduring legacy, and the precious memories he gave us all.”
According to the funeral programme, a Service of Songs will hold on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at The Monarch Event Center in Lekki, Lagos, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with guests expected to appear in white attire.
The Wake Keep is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the family residence located at 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State.
Funeral Service for the late actor will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, Abia State, after which he will be interred at the family compound.
A reception will immediately follow the interment at the same venue, while the family has maintained white as the official dress code for the ceremonies.
The statement, signed by Mazi Alex Oji Ekubo Okwaraeke (Ugwuaro) on behalf of the Ekubo-Okwaraeke family, appealed to the public to continue to keep “Alexx, his wife, and the entire family” in their prayers during the difficult period.
