The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the constitution of a 50-member Wise Men and Women Policy and Manifesto Committee to drive the development of its policy direction ahead of future electoral engagements.
The party said the committee was approved by its National Working Committee and endorsed by the National Chairman of the ADC, Senator David A. B. Mark, in line with the partyβs commitment to building a credible, people-oriented and forward-looking framework for national governance.
According to a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the committee comprises seasoned Nigerians drawn from diverse backgrounds, including former public office holders, academics, technocrats, policy experts, civil society leaders and professionals.
The statement noted that members of the committee collectively bring extensive experience in governance, economic management, social development, security and democratic reforms.
Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, will chair the committee, with renowned economist and public intellectual, Professor Pat Utomi, serving as Deputy Chairman. Salihu Lukman was named as Secretary of the committee.
The party said the committee is mandated to articulate a clear, coherent and credible policy and manifesto that reflects the aspirations of Nigerians and positions the ADC as a viable alternative platform for responsible leadership and national renewal.
βThe committee is expected to develop policies that address Nigeriaβs pressing challenges, anchored on competence, integrity and national consensus,β the statement said.
The formal inauguration of the committee has been scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026, at 12 noon, at the Conference Hall of the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja.
Reaffirming its belief in ideas-driven leadership, the ADC expressed confidence that the committee would deliver a manifesto that speaks to the real needs and expectations of Nigerians.
The party urged all concerned members and relevant stakeholders to take note of the development.
