PHCCIMA President Dr. Chinyere Nwoga has renewed advocacy for deeper collaboration between the legal and business sectors as a pathway to national development.
Speaking at the 2025 Law Week of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Port Harcourt Branch, she emphasized that meaningful progress depends on strong synergy between law and commerce.
Dr. Nwogaβwho made history as the first female President of the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (PHCCIMA) in its 68-year existenceβcommended Branch Chairman Barr. Cordelia Eke and her team for delivering a well-organized and engaging Law Week.
She noted that the theme, βGrowing Through Innovation with Strategy β Bridging Markets & Encouraging Disruptions,β is especially relevant in an era defined by rapid digital transformation.
βIn a world evolving so quickly, this theme challenges us to rethink the interplay between law and business for sustainable societal impact,β she said.
Dr. Nwoga urged stakeholders to disrupt outdated systems and embrace digitalization, aligning her message with PHCCIMAβs commitment to advancing economic growth in Rivers State.
She stressed the mutual dependence of both sectors, noting that businesses rely on the legal profession for investor protection, while lawyers benefit from active engagement with the business community. In a lighthearted moment, she encouraged Maria, Chairman of Women in the NBA, along with other lawyers, to consider joining the Chamber.
Dr. Nwoga also highlighted PHCCIMAβs upcoming international trade fair scheduled for December 12β22, 2025, which will spotlight innovation and sustainability across Rivers State and the wider Niger Delta region. She affirmed the Chamberβs readiness to partner with the NBA to drive growth, innovation, and reinvention.
The 2025 Law Week provided a platform for valuable professional exchange on innovation within the justice system and society at large. Dr. Nwogaβs remarks underscored the importance of integrated legalβcommercial collaboration in building resilient and inclusive economies.
