The Rivers State Police Command has arrested two suspected kidnappers who allegedly abducted a 24-year-old woman in Igbo Etche after luring her through a dating site.

The suspects, identified as Ifeanyi Chukwu Alozie and Miracle Nwimene, reportedly collected a ₦200,000 ransom before releasing the victim.

In a press statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, on Wednesday, she revealed that police officers, acting on intelligence, tracked and apprehended the duo in Egwi, Etche.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, commended the operatives for their swift action and cautioned the public against the dangers of online dating.
